A “Bean to Bar” chocolate making class (Just in Time for Valentine’s Day!)

Have you ever considered a chocolate making class for your sweetie this Valentine Day Holiday? Here’s your chance!

“Chocolate is more than just a food.  It brings us together.  Leave chocolate out on the table and friends, family, and strangers will converge.  Conversations happen and memories are made. Relationships are built.”

Chocolate can be a symbol of love, consolation, passion, friendship or celebration and when the art of producing a bar is handled with reverence and respect for the ingredients the outcome can be deeply memorable. In a world where quality is often overlooked Wisconsin’s only certified organic chocolate company, Tabal Chocolate, is producing high-quality chocolate with only 4 simple ingredients. Dan Bieser, founder of Tabal, doesn’t only make chocolate…he has “set out to create the best chocolate imaginable”. Chocolate is made from the cacao bean which is then coaxed into confection by drying, fermenting, shelling and grinding until coco butter and coco liquor are distinctly present.

Stone Chocolate GrinderEach one of Tabal’s chocolate bars has been crafted with organic, fair-trade and sustainable cacao from multiple countries and although the beans come from different areas of the world, each bar contains cacao from just one source, giving it its own unique flavor, much like a bottle of wine.

On February 12th, just in time for Valentine’s Day, Dan Bieser of Tabal Chocolate will be teaching a “Bean to Bar” chocolate making class at Wellspring Organic Farm and Education Center near the village of Newburg, WI. Tabal is one of the few chocolatiers that use the “bean to bar” method instead of purchasing ready-made chocolate. Participants in this class will have the opportunity to discover and taste dark chocolates made with organic cacao beans that have been prepared in the traditional stone-grinding method.

The class is $40 per person for those registered before Feb. 9th, and $45 after. The fee includes chocolate tasting and recipes to take home. For more information and to register, please visit www.wellspringinc.org or call (414) 522-6989.
